For health care providers

The clarity you need to support patients with recurrent and chronic UTIs.

Improve Clinical Workflows & Patient Satisfaction

  • Convenient

Patients collection sample from the comfort of their homes. They can skip waiting for an opening or being sent to urgent care.

  • Targeted

Identify the top symptom causing uropathogens and antibiotic resistance genes & reduce reliance on long term antibiotic utilization.

  • Fast

Results within 24 hours of lab receiving urine sample. A streamlined workflow optimized for telehealth & midlevel support.

The Power of Advanced Testing

Perspectives on PCR UTI testing

For chronic and recurrent UTI patients, urine evaluations are recommended and essential.  While standard culture may meet the needs for acute e.coli infections, newer studies suggest that this conventional testing method may be insufficient for pathogen detection.

The inability to identify and quantify pathogens, especially in the case of biofilms, leave gaps in guidance for optimal antibiotic dosage and duration. Compounding the growing issue of antibiotic stewardship.

Advanced testing methodologies utilizing polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and NGS, paired with supporting antibiotic resistance analysis, can provide expanded information to support the treatment and management of urinary issues in these patients.

Limitations of standard urine cultures

Urine cultures, while still considered by many to be the gold standard of UTI testing, lead to misdiagnosis in up to 67% of all patients.

  • Culture requires for clean catch specimen collection to avoid contamination, as well as transport constraints, result in up to 50% of results being inconclusive “mixed flora” or “no growth” results.

  • Designed to only detect fast-growing uropathogens, leaving a gap in identification of slow-growing or fastidious pathogens that are often present with UTIs.

  • Standard urine cultures lack the ability to identify polymicrobial cases or biofilms, even in the presence of caustic uropathogens.

Value of the MyUTI at home test

  • This test provides much-needed support for people who are unable to access specialty urological care and advanced testing in settings convenient to them. through these institutions.

  • Home sample collection minimally affected by transport time or temperature due to utilization of PCR technology.

  • Results available within 24 hours with 97% diagnostic accuracy.  Pathogen detection based on proven & well established clinically significant thresholds.

  • The MyUTI test report provides comprehensive & clinically actionable data on antibiotic susceptibility to support antibiotic stewardship.

  • Wherever appropriate, the MyUTI Home Test can support the efficient management & treatment of patients with frequent UTIs via telemedicine utilizing allied health professionals, rather than requiring in-office visits.

Who is right for MyUTI testing?

For patients with chronic or recurrent UTIs, expanded diagnostics coupled with research based antibiotic recommendations can reduce recurrent infection rates.

  • Reliable research data supports utilization of PCR & NGS testing for those meeting the following patient criteria:

    • Persistent symptoms despite negative urine culture

    • Recurrent UTI present despite appropriate antibiotic treatment

    • Suspected Interstitial Cystitis or Painful Bladder Syndrome

    • Irritative symptoms not responding to OAB medications
